Privacy Policy

This policy applies to every app published by Zardecki.dev, including Shazbot and Tiny Elvis, and to any future apps unless a separate policy says otherwise.

All apps

Data collected

None. Our apps do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, and no usage tracking of any kind.

Data stored on your Mac

Any settings or data an app needs are stored locally on your Mac and never leave it. Secrets such as passwords and key passphrases are stored in the macOS Keychain.

App Sandbox

Our apps run under the macOS App Sandbox with a Hardened Runtime, and request only the entitlements they need to do their job.

Shazbot

Shazbot is a native macOS menu bar SSH tunnel manager.

Network activity: the only network connections Shazbot makes are the SSH connections you explicitly configure and initiate. There is no "calling home," no update check, and no background activity beyond your tunnels.

Stored data: your server and tunnel configurations are kept in its App Group container, with passwords and key passphrases in the Keychain. Shazbot reads key files only where you explicitly grant access.

Tiny Elvis

Tiny Elvis is a native macOS desktop pet.

Window information: Tiny Elvis looks at the position and size of your frontmost window, and the name of the frontmost app, so it can sit on the title bar and make quips about it. It does not use the Accessibility API and does not read window contents. This information is used only on your Mac, in the moment, and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted by us.

Network activity and purchases: Tiny Elvis's only network use is the App Store's in-app purchase system (StoreKit), which communicates with Apple. Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and we do not receive your payment details or personal information.

Changes

If we change this policy, for example when a new app is released, we will update this page and the date above.
