Privacy Policy
Shazbot is built to keep your data on your Mac. It contains no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising, and it does not collect or transmit any personal information to Zardecki.dev or any third party.
Information we collect
None. Zardecki.dev does not collect, receive, store, or have any access to your data. Shazbot has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or crash-reporting services.
Information Shazbot stores on your device
To do its job, Shazbot saves the following locally on your Mac:
- Server and tunnel configurations (names, hostnames, ports, usernames, port-forward settings) — stored in Shazbot's application support folder on your Mac.
- Passwords and SSH key passphrases — stored in the macOS Keychain, which is managed and protected by the operating system.
- App preferences — stored in standard macOS user defaults.
Your private key files are never copied or moved; Shazbot only reads them, with your permission, to establish a connection.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you turn on iCloud sync, your server and tunnel configurations are stored in your own iCloud account (via Apple's iCloud key-value storage) so they can sync between your Macs. This data lives in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy; Zardecki.dev has no access to it. Passwords and passphrases are not synced. iCloud sync is off by default.
Network connections
Shazbot connects only to the SSH servers you configure, directly from your Mac. Those connections do not pass through Zardecki.dev, and we receive no information about them. Shazbot makes no other network requests.
Children's privacy
Shazbot is a developer utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
