Why Tiny Elvis

Tiny Elvis is a desktop pet — a fresh take on "Tiny Elvis," a 1994 Windows 3.1 desktop toy by Pegasus Development, and a nod to the SNL sketch it was riffing on. The idea was too good to leave in 1994: a tiny Elvis pops up next to whatever you're working on and can't believe how huge it is.

He stays out of your way. Tiny Elvis only appears after you've been idle for a while, follows your actual frontmost window so the quips are about the window you're really looking at, and disappears the moment you touch the keyboard or mouse.

About the art

All of the pixel art on this page is new and original, made for Tiny Elvis as an homage to the 1994 program rather than a copy of it. The shipping app pairs it with a synthesized voice.
