Before you write

A quick look at the known issues on the Shazbot page may save you a round trip.

Sending a connection log

If a tunnel won't connect, Shazbot captures a detailed log of the attempt. Including it makes problems much faster to diagnose:

  1. When a connection fails, the server shows a red banner with the error.
  2. Click the banner to open the connection log.
  3. Use Copy (or Save…) and paste the log into your email.

The log contains your server's host, port, username, and the error detail — but never your passwords or key passphrases. Feel free to redact the hostname if you'd prefer.
